We focus on independent, distinctive, and upscale properties because these markets have shown an exceptionally steady growth in demand. In the recession years of the past, when the economic sector saw a decrease of 1.1 percent, luxury and upscale hotel demand increased 1.7 percent and 1.2 percent respectively, according to Smith Travel Research. Since then, demand for luxury and upscale properties has continued to grow consistently. Supply growth in these segments is moderately relative to the rest of the industry even in today’s economical times.
An independent hotel has the opportunity to customize its operations and marketing efforts to fit local demand and market potential. Standard operating procedures will not dictate room rates or results. Instead, a hotel’s business plan is personalized and customized to maximize revenue and the hotel’s reputation among key target audiences-similar to the way an independent hotel can better personalize its facility and guest services.

The Octogone design and development team takes a very analytical approach to project management. The focus is always on optimizing real estate opportunities through innovative, high-quality, and long-lasting improvements. The team looks for profitable and indigenous solutions that both translate operating objectives into effective design results and reflect the character and heritage of the surrounding environment.
The design and development group has valuable hospitality experience in design, project management, and construction. The team utilizes extensive partner relationships with third-party consultants and contractors, as well as with the AVIR Enterprises Construction Division for specialized expertise and resources.
